BIFF Cinescape: Special Screening at the Szépilona Tram Depot
As part of the Budapest International Film Festival Cinescape program, we invite you to a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience: where film meets the city’s rhythm. At the iconic Szépilona Tram Depot, surrounded by yellow trams you’ll be watching A Useful Ghost - Thailand’s official Oscar submission and a cult-in-the-making gem that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke’s tender and darkly funny film tells the story of a wife who returns as a ghost living inside a vacuum cleaner, determined to protect her family from vengeful spirits. It’s a wonderfully surreal journey through grief, memory, and what it truly means to be present — even beyond death.
After the screening, if you’ve purchased a combined ticket, hop aboard a special articulated BKV Ikarus bus that will take you directly from the depot to the BIFF Grand Party.
