An unfinished film is passed from one friend to another. The dialogue between them is a journey accompanied by drawings of a species of cicada called the Great Eastern Brood X, which only appears in the United States every 17 years. Eastern Anthems is an unusual road movie, a beautiful story about the connection between nature and the human world.
