Juli Berkes (producer) on low budget producing
Several of the outstanding achievements of Hungary’s independent film scene are associated with producer Juli Berkes. Drawing on her experience with Explanation for Everything (winner of Venice Orizzonti 2023, directed by Gábor Reisz), she will share insights, practical tips, and the resilient mindset that producers and filmmakers across Hungary have had to practice over the past decade. While we hope the coming decade will bring a different set of challenges, there is still much to learn from the experiences and lessons of recent years.
