The legendary writer Patricia Highsmith (portrayed by the equally legendary Helen Mirren), is in her seventies, in poor health, living in seclusion in the Swiss Alps. She spends her days shut away in her study, in the company of her books, her cats, and her collection of antique firearms. Unexpectedly and, more importantly, uninvited she is visited by the young Edward Ridgeway (Alden Ehrenreich), a representative of a New York publishing house, who has been sent to persuade Highsmith to write one last Tom Ripley novel. Highsmith is annoyed by this young, overly enthusiastic visitor, so she rejects the offer, unless Ridgeway can help her come up with the perfect murder. Directed by Anton Corbijn (Control) and shot by Robbie Ryan (Fish Tank, Poor Things), this new chamber thriller blends tension and humor as it follows an unusual clash between a young literary agent and the notorious author Patricia Highsmith.

It's impossible to imagine post-punk, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, U2, Nick Cave, or Siouxsie Sioux without Anton Corbijn's iconic images. Corbijn began his career as a photographer and went on to direct multiple music videos and films. His first feature film, Control, paints a portrait of Joy Division's tragically short-lived lead singer, Ian Curtis. His next two films, The American (2010) and A Most Wanted Man (2014), were action-driven thrillers. In his latest film A Talent for Murder, Corbijn returns to a portrait-like style of storytelling, combined with elements of action films and crime thrillers.
