Visegrad Audiovisual Lab Film Education Workshop 1 – for cinema operators, programmers and educators

A practical workshop on turning morning screenings into interactive events for young audiences – with smartphones and zero budget.

This 120-minute practical workshop shows cinema operators, programmers, and educators how to turn morning film screenings into interactive events for young audiences using smartphones and a zero budget. First, participants will learn how to connect archival films with school topics so principals easily approve cinema visits. Next, they will try a hands-on exercise: watching a short film snippet, making a 3-shot smartphone video in small groups to learn basic camera angles, and screening their clips together. Finally, the session shows how to get instant feedback from young viewers and how to use free, ready-to-use FilmED worksheets for future cinema events.
