Living on the outskirts of a small coastal village, a lonely fisherwoman (Olivia Colman) has had enough of the people around her and their constant mockery. She turns to the local wicker weaver (Peter Dinklage) and asks him to make her a husband. When the mysterious creation (Alexander Skarsgård) comes to life and proves to be everything she could have wished for, his arrival upends the village, stirring jealousy, desire and chaos. Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer's playful and offbeat love story takes a mischievous look at sex, marriage and the absurd rules that govern our lives.
Wicker was shot and produced in Hungary, and members of the Hungarian crew will join us for the film's first screening. The screening is presented in collaboration with The Royal Budapest Film Company.
